GLA:D Back

GLA:D Back is a treatment program designed for people experiencing persistent or recurring low back pain that interferes with daily activities. It combines education and exercise to help patients build effective self-management strategies for their condition.

Originally created in Denmark as part of the GLA:D initiative, the program was developed to deliver evidence-based care for individuals with ongoing or recurrent low back pain. Its goal is to equip patients with the understanding, skills, and practical tools needed to reduce pain levels and manage any remaining discomfort more effectively.

Program Structure

Assessment

During the initial, patient identifies their current level of function and establish their goals for the program.

Education Sessions

There would be two group-based education sessions will be conducted in the first week; where participants will learn about the back, the causes of back pain, and strategies to improve back health and manage their demands of daily activities better.

Exercise Class

Follow after by 2 Education cllasses , there will be 16 guided group exercise classes, occurring twice a week over 8 weeks to improve you muscle strength.
